📐DRAWING MATERIALS AND TOOLS:
① Drawing pencil: are necessary for any graphics course. You need a number ranging from 2B to 2H. These letters refer to the hardness of the pencil lead. A soft lead such as 2B can be used to produce quick drawings and shading. On the other hand, when drawing precisely a 2H or even a harder pencil such as a 4H, is ideal.
HB can be used for every kind of drawing.
② A refillable pencil: is very useful especially if you are drawing something that needs a constant thickness of line.
③ A protractor: is used to measure angles. A typical protactor is a semi-circular piece of plastic with 180 degrees printed around its curve.
④ A compass: is used for drawing circles very accurately.
⑤ Set squares: are used to draw accurate angles. The most common are 45 and 60/30 degrees.
⑥ A ruler: is possibly one of the most important pieces of drawing equipment. Rulers should only be used to measure distances with lines.
⑦ Paper: is a thin and flexible sheet made of cellulose that comes from wood. Paper can be classified by size, weight and finish.
📄TYPES OF PAPER DEPENDING ON ITS SIZE
Sizes can also be called formats.
In technical drawing the most common formats are from the international standard (ISO) "A" series.
According to this rule we can set in order the different sizes from the biggest up to smallest one. Notice that the higher the number is , the smaller the size.
